Gas Fired Pottery - Chino colored

Gas Firing - Most common in studios - Gas is the source of heat and kilns fire 2000-2400 degrees for 10-20 hours depending on size of kiln.  Colors tend to be consistent. blue, green, yellow, etc.  The kiln master determines whether the firing will be oxidized - yielding brighter, lighter colors, or reduction - yielding darker, warmer colors.  The difference between the two is how much oxygen is allowed in the kiln.
